Introduction to Waipahu Intermediate School Sexual Health Unit:
We will be teaching a Sexual Health unit, from HealthTeacher.com, in the next few weeks. The approved curriculum is aligned with the Hawaii Content and Performance Standards III and has been reviewed using the National Sexuality Education Standards, The Center for Disease Control’s (CDC) Health Education Curriculum Analysis Tool (HE-CAT), and the CDC’s Characteristics of an Effective Health Education Curriculum.
Schools are required to provide comprehensive sexual health education that follow the requirements set forth in the Hawaii Revised Statutes (HRS) §321-11.1, Hawaii State Board of Education (BOE) Policy 103.5, and aligns with state health education standards.
Parents can view the curriculum on the school’s web site or go on line at “HealthTeacher.com”.

Dance Class at WIS
Students in this class will learn beginning to intermediate dance technique
in a variety of styles. This technique will be incorporated into dance
routines with an emphasis on being performance ready. In addition, students
will engage in stretching and conditioning exercises to increase
flexibility and core strength. This class is for ALL students. Try
something new and let's get moving!

The registration period for up coming 8th graders is from February 6- 17.

Please return the registration card promptly (to the elementary school) to help ensure your child's choice of elective classes.
