Dear Waipahu Intermediate Parent/Legal Guardian, During the 2025–2026 school year, all students in grades 7 and 8 will take the Smarter Balanced English Language Arts (ELA)/Literacy and Mathematics Assessments. In addition to the Smarter Balanced Assessment, students in grade 8 will take the Hawai’i State Science (NGSS) Assessments, and students registered in Algebra I will be taking the End-of-Course Exam. January 7, 2026 Dear Parent or Guardian: Waipahu Intermediate School 8th grade students will participate in the National Assessment of Educational Progress (NAEP) on Friday, February 6, 2026. NAEP is the largest nationally representative and continuing assessment of what students know and can do in various subjects. NAEP is administered by the National Center for Education Statistics, within the U.S. Department of Education. NAEP is different from our state assessments becaus
