Visitor Code of Conduct
November 1, 2024
Aloha Parents and Guardians:
The Hawai'i State Department of Education (Department) is committed to fostering positive and healthy school environments that reflect the spirit of Living Aloha, a culture of respect, cooperation, and mutual support for our students and staff members. To that end, in collaboration with the Attorney General's office, the Department has established the attached Visitor Code of Conduct to ensure that all interactions between the public and Department employees are conducted in a safe and respectful manner on Department property and/or during Department activities both on-and-off-property.
The Visitor Code of Conduct outlines clear expectations for acceptable visitor behavior, including respectful communication, adherence to personal and professional boundaries, and compliance with school policies and legal requirements on all school campuses and Department properties. These include, but are not limited to, Department and Department-sponsored functions, events, operations, activities, and extracurricular activities that may occur on school campuses or other locations.
Please review the attached Visitor Code of Conduct. All visitors must adhere to these rules or face appropriate restrictions for violations in accordance with applicable laws and regulations. We ask for your cooperation to make the school experience safer and more positive for our students, families, staff, and entire community. Mahalo for your kokua.
