Waipahu Intermediate Scholl is officially the first stand alone (non-combo school) intermediate school in the nation to get recognition as a whole school Model Pre-Academy with Distinction from the National Career Academy Coalition (NCAC). It is truly an honor.

This recognition reflects our four year journey and commitment that the faculty and staff have for the students of Waipahu Intermediate School. To earn this recognition, WIS met all ten NCAC National Standards of Practice which includes academic, achievement, project based learning, portfolios, governance, career connected education, and sustainability. In addition to our teachers and staff, we also would

like to say a huge mahalo to our industry/post secondary/community partners, the Hawai'i Chamber of Commerce, HIDOE Workforce Development, Complex Area support staff, complex schools, and our awesome students.
